Desde el remoto planeta Eden’ia, situado en la constelación de Orión, una nave parte hacia la Tierra con el fin de encontrar el remedio a un mal que está abocando a la extinción a los habitantes de ese lejano mundo. Los tripulantes de la nave vienen en busca de los descendientes de sus comandantes Ade’an y Eve’an, que dos siglos edenios atrás partieron a colonizarla. Aunque piensan que sus compatriotas aún habitan la Tierra, no tienen noticias de ellos desde hace decenios. Durante su travesía, los edenios consiguen contactar con un descendiente de sus comandantes, quien  desconocía esta circunstancia. A pesar del escepticismo inicial por parte de este, acaban convenciéndole para que les ayude a encontrar el arca de la alianza, objeto del que tienen constancia por haber leído la Biblia, libro al que consideran un diario de los descendientes de sus comandantes.
