Die letzten Kapitel widmen sich der Kosmologie.Dieses Buch wird von Studierenden und Dozenten, die sich mit der Theoretischen Physik im Rahmen einer Kursvorlesung auseinandersetzen, für die anschauliche und gut strukturierte Darstellung des Stoffes geschätzt und empfohlen. Der Autor liefert eine klare physikalische Diskussion der Materie und behandelt auch die anspruchsvolle Mathematik verständlich.  Im Buch sind mehr als 40 Übungsaufgaben mit Lösungen enthalten.In der siebten Auflage wurde das vorliegende Buch aktualisiert und korrigiert, insbesondere die Themen Gravitationswellen und Dunkle Energie im Rahmen der Kosmologie wurden auf den neuesten Stand der Forschung gebracht. Der AutorTorsten Fließbach habilitierte sich 1977 an der TU München in Theoretischer Kernphysik. Seit 1979 ist er Professor für Theoretische Physik an der Universität Siegen.
