Neste livro estendemos os estudos de Daniélou para os campos da Filosofia da música, Teoria e Cognição Musicais para compreendermos sua contribuição para a música em nossos dias, tanto à sua recepção quanto às possibilidades de abertura aos aspectos criativos. Entendemos suas obras como interpretações ou redescrições possíveis do fenômeno musical, baseamo-nos em Gadamer quando aborda Filosofia e Teoria e em Rorty afirmando que novas redescrições contribuem para ampliar o conhecimento do objeto. Concordamos também com Kuhn sobre a formação dos paradigmas científicos, que Vattimo atribui principalmente às artes: a persuasão e convencimento retóricos têm um papel preponderante na consolidação de um paradigma, seja ele artístico ou científico. Porém, Daniélou se aproxima mais de Burckhardt, sobre a Arte Sagrada e de Godwin, sobre a Música Especulativa. A partir da Escala Universal dos Sons de Daniélou, foi possível delimitar os termos Tônica e Fundamental. Por fim concluímos que sua escala escapa do relativismo do sistema do Temperamento Igual, possibilitando um perspectivismo, campo fértil para a criação.
