Walter Crane (1845 - 1915) was an English book illustrator and artist considered as being among the most prolific and influential children’s book producers of his generation. Crane also played a significant role in the Arts and Crafts movement, producing many illustrations, paintings, children’s books, and more. Some notable books Crane illustrated include: Edmund Spenser’s 'Faerie Queene' (1894-1896), 'Sleeping Beauty and Other Fairy Tales' (1910), and 'A Fairy Garland' (1929).
