Ze względu na zwiększoną zbiorową świadomość potrzeby działania w obliczu widocznych skutków klimatycznych, opracowano polityczne programy transformacji, takie jak Agenda 2030 i paryskie porozumienie klimatyczne. Na szczeblu UE, w celu wdrożenia paryskiego porozumienia klimatycznego, opublikowano Europejski Zielony Ład, w ramach którego przyjęto szereg nowych regulacji, mających na celu powstrzymanie globalnego ocieplenia oraz poszanowanie środowiska i praw człowieka. Jednakże regulacje te pozostają w napięciu z praktycznym wdrożeniem, zwłaszcza że ostatnio przyjęty pakiet Omnibus spowodował dalszą niepewność wśród firm w zakresie jego implementacji. Osłabione zostały również zaufanie i wiarygodność UE.Praca zawiera przegląd rozwoju czasowego kluczowych politycznych programów transformacji z rosnącym naciskiem na czynniki ESG, analizuje CSRD, rozporządzenie UE w sprawie taksonomii oraz CSDDD, a także wskazuje na wynikające z nich wyzwania dla przedsiębiorstw.
