Poetry is the highest form of art. Poetry is based on imagination, the higher the flight of the poet’s thoughts and the more exaggeration in the essay, the more beautiful the poem will be. ’Ajnabi Khuda’, is a book of poetry collection by Shamim Anwar which consists of his selected nazms and ghazals./'جدید اردو غزل: منظر اور پس منظر'، پروفیسر شمیم انور سابق صدر شعبہ اردو کلکتہ یونیورسٹی (پیدائش: 1949) کی پی۔ایچ۔ڈی کا مقالہ تھا جو کتابی صورت میں بھی شائع ہوا۔ ان کے مجموعہ کلام 'اجنبی خدا' (اشاعت: مئی-1974) نے اپنے دور میں جدیدیت کی خوب خوب نمایندگی کی تھی۔ شاعری میں حلیم ثمر آروی ان کے استاد تھے۔ پروفیسر شمیم انور کو مغربی بنگال اردو اکیڈمی کا عبدالرزاق ملیح آبادی ایوارڈ عطا کیا گیا تھا۔ وہ مغربی بنگال اردو اکاڈمی کی گورننگ باڈی کے رکن بھی تھے۔ پروفیسر شمیم انور نظموں کے علاوہ غزل کے بھی اچھے شاعر تھے اور کثیر تعداد میں غزلیں بھی لکھی ہیں۔ وہ مشہور صحافی ابراہیم ہوش کے بڑے داماد تھے۔ انہوں نے ابراہیم ہوش کی کلیات کو ایڈٹ کیا تھا مگر کتاب شائع نہ ہو سکی۔
