It’s no wonder that many Sahelian countries are turning to Russia, China, and other non-Western powers for support, as they see these countries as more reliable and less conditional in their aid and support. The Sahel region, stretching across Africa from the Atlantic to the Red Sea, is a crucible of geopolitical tensions, humanitarian crises, and environmental disasters.
