After World Introduction is the first book in a new book series called After World. The book series follows the lives of five boys as they travel through a world forever changed by a zombie apocalypse. After World is written as simulation where characters live and breathe as if they are humans thrust into a world torn apart by a zombie apocalypse. With the focus being on writing the characters as living through a simulation. The characters themselves do not bow to the usual concept of antagonist and protagonist action. Instead, characters change and evolve as they learn more about the world around them. The characters in After World therefore will make mistakes and will be bound by the same limitations of a new reader taking their first steps through a new world. After World takes place directly after a world war that was sparked between humans and zombies. That means that the five boys whose journey the reader will witness in the After World series is in fact the first generation of the new world. To better understand the concept behind After World you need to understand that like people the characters within will come across threads to stories. Threads that they won’t always follow up on until much later or not at all. The intend and design behind the writing of After World is to create a story that once the series completed. Readers will be able to reread the story a second time and be able to pick up on early hints and Easter eggs of future events. After World was written this way because of the dislike the author has in regards to the kids movie logic that is sometimes applied to most stories. For example a group of kids need a treasure map and suddenly one just shows up from thin air. This is why After World is written to resemble a moving and living world. Just because the characters you as the reader is following isn’t present. It does not mean that the world stands still until they get there. You as the reader your knowledge about the world will only stretch as far as the knowledge of the character that you are following. Each chapter will have multiple points of views from the different characters and that will mean multiple storylines are being told at once. So be prepared for that. Regarding the writing style of the chapters. After World is written in the format of an episode from a TV show. This means that every chapter will jump between points of views like scenes from a TV show episode. Regarding Introduction. After World Introduction is just as stated. It is an introduction for the reader to the world they are about to journey through. Introduction will also introduce you to the characters that will feature further on into the story. That being said this was more of an explanation of how to read After World rather than a summary of what to expect. That is because that is the point of it all. After World is not intended to be read or written as a normal story. No character in After World has been written as a hero or as a villain. Rather every character has a reason for their actions, names and motivations. As readers all I ask is that you remain patient. After all, After World is told After World is after all not a story of revenge or heroics but rather a fight for survival in a world that truly doesn’t care anymore. They don’t care because as they say power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely.
