Knowledge production is a highly political and politicized practice. Discarding both Euro- and Afrocentricity, this collection proposes knowledge production of Africa that is multiple, global and dynamic. The first part addresses the underlying theories, methodologies and practices that drive the production of knowledge; the second puts these theories into practice through case histories across disciplines and contexts, from religion, science and gender to the nuances of popular music and African literature.
