Niniejsze badanie dotyczy kwestii związanych z interakcją nauczyciel-uczeń oraz mediacją nauczyciela w klasie na kursach szkolnictwa wyższego, biorąc pod uwagę relacje emocjonalne w procesie nauczania i uczenia się. Jego podstawą teoretyczną jest psychologia społeczno-historyczna, reprezentowana przez takich autorów jak: Vygotsky (1991, 2007), Wallon (2007), Ausubel (1982). Celem niniejszej pracy było zbadanie reprezentacji afektywności nauczyciela szkolnictwa wyższego. Badanie zostało przeprowadzone w prywatnej instytucji szkolnictwa wyższego (IES) w zachodniej części São Paulo. Wzięło w nim udział dziesięciu nauczycieli szkolnictwa wyższego oraz dziesięciu studentów (obu płci), regularnie zapisanych na studia wyższe na kierunku administracja, którzy byli na ósmym semestrze. Do analizy danych wykorzystano narzędzie analizy treści. Stwierdzono, że zarówno nauczyciele, jak i studenci postrzegają afektywność jako niezbędną, biorąc pod uwagę, że budowanie wiedzy nie ogranicza się jedynie do przekazywania wiedzy, ale jest to nauka wykraczająca poza uczelnię, przekraczająca karierę akademicką i mająca wpływ na życie.
