本书是作者用诗写成的日记。用韵主张新旧两合，作品无一例外。用通俗的语言，表现当下生活，表达现代情感。追求平中寄奇、平中寓理、平中得趣。作者出身农民，曾从事美工、编剧、编辑多种职业。这些，在本书中均以诗词形式作了呈现。何鹤，1967年生于吉林农安，长春市艺术研究所编剧。戏剧作品多次获奖，多部作品被拍成电视剧。于书法、美术、设计均有涉猎，曾为电视台设计台标，为书刊设计封面等等。2004年学诗， 2006年获当代诗词奖，年底，进京任《文化月刊·诗词 版》责任编辑。先后任《中国诗词年鉴》、《当代中国诗词百家》编辑。2008年起，供职于中华诗词学会。
