修道次第论是由印度莲花戒大师（噶玛拉希拉）于公元8世纪所 撰著的一部大乘修道论典；属瑜伽行中观自续派见解。全书共分为上 中下三篇；作者以通俗易懂的方式阐述了一个大乘瑜伽行者自始至 终该怎样次第修行大乘菩提之道，并且引用了诸多经典教言作为依 据来建立正确修道信念。 本书对于藏传佛教影响巨大，以致后来的藏传各派著作中经常 会引用到此修道次第论教言。根据宋代印度僧侣施护（？- 1017）翻译 的《广释菩提心论》（初篇修道次第论中文版）来看，此论不仅在吐蕃 广受欢迎，甚至在印度及汉砖佛教界中也是深受重视的。与其他文献 不同的是，本书不仅是一本宗教哲理方面的教材，也是一本研究古代 各国各民族间文化交流的参考文献。
