本书作者收编诗词，既无家学可矜，也没有师门可承，完全是野路子出身，亦即明袁宏道在《叙姜陆二公同适稿》中所说的'野路诗'。作者的诗词和当今的诗人词家比，就显得不够雅驯，因为作者没有雅驯的资本，也没有雅驯的资格，对于星汉先生的诗词,国内论坛早有不少评论,本人不才,在研读先生的诗词后,也撰写过几篇文章,分别从先生诗词的内容、语言、抒情方式、议论等方面作过评说。今夏读了先生惠赠的《天山东望集》后，可谓全面地了解了他的诗词风格、艺术、人生。《天山东望集》从1968年至2008年,时跨41年所载诗词934首(含少量组诗)。于是,我想从纵横两方面拟构我的这篇评说,故题标为'纵横谈'。
