Both founderscame from American Protestant missionary families.Clad in middy, bloomers, over-the-knee stockings, and tennis shoes,Emily chronicled with compassion and insight her struggles, triumphs,and observations of camp life on the shores of Sebago Lake in thebackwoods of Maine.
