Así, loque era un breve viaje a La Paz, para Alberto se transforma en una largaestadía y una inmersión en la Bolivia profunda del pueblo de Sorata y delcaserío de Tipuani, campamento aurífero en la selva del Beni. Allí, la vida yla muerte cruzarán sus caminos, remeciendo la vida del chileno, y tambiénla de Angélica y sus hijas, respetable familia que se ve envuelta en impensados hechos de violencia.Este relato, que recrea la historia de la familia materna del autor, le permitenavegar por un caudal de dos sangres, la chilena y la boliviana, en un intento por acercar ambos mundos. 10
