Legend says painter Zhang Sengyao drew dragons without eyes on a temple wall. When questioned, he warned: ''If I paint the pupils, they’ll fly away.'' After adding the eyes, the dragons immediately came alive and soared into the sky. The phrase now signifies perfecting a work with one crucial touch.'
