相同书名的出版物很多，本书来自中国南京，作者臧文（1923－2019），出生在太湖农村，进上海读了三年书，去当女工，16岁进入新四军的根据地，在抗战至建政后的财经战线工作四十多年，离休后将丰富多彩的亲身经历陆续写出，自印成书。这次新版取三册同名小册子合编推出。作者的夫君邓克生，著名的学者型干部，在理财经营、商业知识方面学有心得，并能通俗化的做普及宣传，有所成就，跟中共的关系更深，联系更广，'文革'刚结束时就不幸去世，没有留下回忆文字（政治运动的检讨交代除外）。作者与众儿女一道，对家族珍贵的资料持续收集整理，开风气地将私家档案捐赠社会，又率先自撰自编自印回忆文稿，安顿内心，在同侪中已然佼佼者，不但产生了前所未料的影响，得到普遍赞誉，还引得新闻媒体、学术研究界也对他们一家及几位亲友的不寻常事迹给予关注，仍在挖掘研究。儿女们以独家的感悟，提出从'秩序／游民'的角度观察思考前一辈，值得读者留意。
