About the Old Testament

In 'About the Old Testament,' Alban Goodier provides an insightful and accessible guide to the first part of the Christian Bible. Written with the clarity and spiritual depth characteristic of his work, Goodier explores the historical, literary, and theological foundations of the Old Testament books. The work serves as an essential companion for readers seeking to understand the complex narratives, prophecies, and wisdom literature that compose the Hebrew Scriptures.Goodier’s approach is both scholarly and devotional, bridging the gap between historical analysis and religious reflection. He contextualizes the lives of the patriarchs, the laws of the Israelites, and the voices of the prophets within the broader scope of salvation history. By highlighting the continuity between the Old and New Testaments, the author demonstrates how these ancient texts remain vital to modern spiritual life. 'About the Old Testament' remains a valuable resource for students of theology, biblical scholars, and any reader looking to deepen their appreciation for the scriptural roots of the Christian faith. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
