A investigação da especificidade de um domínio através de modelos estruturais é, sem dúvida, um dos temas mais inovadores da investigação sobre criatividade. Enquanto a abordagem dominante concebe a criatividade como uma capacidade geral, uma abordagem mais recente concebe a criatividade como específica de um domínio. São frequentemente identificados três grandes domínios de expressão criativa: arte, ciência e vida quotidiana. A abordagem híbrida concilia os paradigmas de domínio geral e de domínio específico, incluindo caraterísticas de domínio geral, de domínio específico e até de tarefa específica. A presente investigação explorou a abordagem híbrida. O perfil criativo cognitivo-conativo foi investigado nos domínios da arte, da ciência e da vida quotidiana. O perfil criativo artístico dos arquitectos foi comparado com o perfil criativo científico dos cientistas sociais e com o perfil criativo quotidiano da população em geral. A abordagem diferencial da criatividade, que integra caraterísticas gerais e específicas do domínio, foi apoiada. Este livro estabelece diferentes perfis criativos em relação a domínios específicos da expressão criativa.
