It discusses the history of the Sidama people’s struggle for freedom in Ethiopia. The Sidama people fought against suppressive military rule known as the 'Derg' from the late 1970’s. The Sidama people ran an armed struggle with the Marxist regime forces led by dictator Col. Mengistu Hailemariam of Ethiopia that slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians, including intellectuals during 1974-1991. The struggle cost the Sidama people thousands of lives and billions of Dollars of properties. The book explains the rationale of the Sidama struggle for freedom and democracy and its objectives. The book also discusses the culture and history of the Sidama people, including socio-economic aspects of the society. Also, the heroism of the Sidama people is discussed, as the kindness and peace-loving of Sidama, and the achievements gained by the non-violence struggle afterward.
