书房，是世界上最有文化的地方，书房文化，是飘逸着芬芳的文化，是醉人心田的文化，也是最时尚最温馨的文化。研究书房文化，是一件浸淫国学、感受传统的事情，也是一件有益于陶冶书香、修性养心的事情。《中华书房文化》是一本融知识、学术、资料、收藏和图片于一体的作品。《中华书房文化》曾在新世纪初出过简易本《书斋文化》，此次是修订本，容量增加了一倍多。主要是重写了《书房的起源》、《历代书房文化的特征》、《书房的设计和装饰》等部分，增加了《前言》、《文房收藏》、《国外书房》、《书房探秘》等章节。本书共分十章，八十余节，另配照片200余张。全书采用书房畅想那样随笔之法，各篇章在成书之前，大多在全国各地的报刊上发表过，当然限于篇幅，大多文章当时有所删节。编辑反馈，此类文章知识性强、趣味性浓，较受读者欢迎。这次承蒙美国南方出版社青睐,在海外推出本书,在全书编排、前后贯通、内容衔接等方面又做了较大幅度的调整和增删。
