Varie, Patrin and Thelma are three women living miles apart from each other, yet sharing a common pain; each having been violently defiled, one by a man she respects and admires. The trauma of the abuse force two of the women to relocate from their supposedly comfort zones. One woman is driven by anger to seek revenge, while the trick of passion takes a toll on one; making her fall headlong for the man who defiled her. 'Has love taken over reasoning or am I a victim of reckless passion?' She asks herself. 'This certainly is undeniably confusing,' she adds. 'I must be insane.' A new twist is added to the drama as an ex-girlfriend returns demanding for her man. To conclude the chapters of their ordeal, each woman must relive the past events as part of their healing process. While fate leads Varie to Thelma’s Psychic Solutions to seek relieve; Patrin on the other hand finds a new home and a new life in the arms of a man whose burning desires for her has no bounds. 'Did he trick her into loving him or does he truly care for her and her baby whose father she does not even know?' Thelma steps in breaking the circle of pain making it possible for the women to breathe again.

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
