Societal norms advertise that immediate gratification is cool, but experience teaches us that casual sex can leave us dealing with aloneness, broken hearts, confusing thoughts, dishonesty, betrayal, distrust, and a host of residual effects void of any cure. 'a tall glass of CELIBACY: the winding road to self preservation', is a poetic journey examining the ramifications of casual sex. It reminds us to learn from hasty moves and thwarted circumstances in relationships, take the lessons, and learn to treat ourselves the way we want and need to be treated and adored. We should never settle for relationships that do not capitalize on appreciating our inner beauty, self-worth, and our ever-giving nature as women. 'a tall glass of CELIBACY' honors what you can be and it consistently reminds us of the qualities of redemption that forgiveness extends, using lessons learned as stepping stones to further embrace our supremeness. When wanting something different in a relationship, embark on a new journey by taking the road less traveled. Besides there is so much more to see along the slow-paced scenic route. If your guy gets a little impatient, maybe he wants to take a detour. Let him. You deserve to be treated like royalty. Never settle. Work on your purpose in this life, go after your dreams with bulldog tenacity, discover what makes your heart smile and skip a beat. Being a Princess or Queen is innate and requires attention and discernment. You can’t get away from it so why not walk in your royalty. And if you’ve never encountered sexual intimacy at this point in your life, there is no rush. Outside of God’s anointing, it gets complicated so wait on God to pick the perfect mate that will walk through mountains to please you at the discretion of God’s firm guidance. In the meantime, work on you. Work your faith and praise God during the wait!

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
