Sheriff Maggie Doane worked hard every day to get the work done and prove she could do it; her Poppo had been the former Sheriff and now ran a ranch nearby while helping her with paperwork; she was a local so knew the good and bad of the town; and, there was her first love that she never forgot. This book is the story of conflict as well as the men who did not want a woman Sheriff. I highly recommend this book and love that I found this author.' - Marlene'I’m not entirely sure what it was that caught my attention in an early draft of this book but I was instantly hooked by the story. I wanted to read more. More about this strong Sheriff out in the middle of nowhere, more about the independent folks who know what community is all about, more about what makes this place tick.
