SUBSEQUENTLY, HE WORKED AT VARIOUS TIMES IN THE STEEL, COAL AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES. WIDOWED AT A YOUNG AGE, HE THEN SPENT MANY YEARS WORKING WITH THE HOMELESS IN MANCHESTER WHERE HE NOW RESIDES..
