O problema da interação entre o novo e o estabelecido na literatura é um dos mais agudos, interessantes e, ao mesmo tempo, insuficientemente estudados. Isto deve-se em grande parte ao facto de os 'tradicionalistas' e os 'inovadores', tanto na literatura como nos estudos literários, preferirem defender as suas posições e não ouvirem frequentemente os seus opositores. O objetivo desta monografia é tentar construir outra ponte entre as velhas e as novas escolas de estudos literários, analisando obras e géneros em que os autores, figurativamente falando, 'jogam no campo uns dos outros'.
