While in Kiev,he met Irena, a Georgian girl withazure blue eyes. Because of hisattraction to her, he extended hisstay in Kiev and that placed himthere at the beginning of theRussian Revolution. The chaosforced him to travel manykilometers and put him innumerous situations of dangerbefore he could escape Russia andimmigrate to America.
