Com base na investigação efectuada até à data, os benefícios da CWRM podem ser resumidos da seguinte forma - São utilizados os mecanismos históricos de resolução de conflitos das próprias comunidades para as questões da água. - São utilizados conhecimentos locais e indígenas pormenorizados. - As comunidades monitorizam a sua utilização da água. - A participação efectiva da comunidade é alcançada. - A gestão da água é efectuada de forma rentável a nível da aldeia.
