The Right to Education Act was a historic moment for India. It made universal education a priority for the nation. As we progress towards higher rates of literacy, we are faced with important questions. Is literacy rate the best measure for a country’s education system? How much of an impact does the quality of education have on an individual’s life? How do we provide quality education to kids from disadvantaged backgrounds? ‘A Fair Race’ looks for possible answers to the questions above. Income and Wealth disparity are rampant in India, and throughout the world. The problem that education sets out to solve is the same thing that hinders it from doing its job.  This book explores the challenges that India faces in implementing educational policies that are critical for its progress.
