A Curse Awakened

She survived a curse, a tyrant, and a monster. Now she has to survive a kingdom that was never meant to be hers.Lenora Moore-Taylor thought deposing a tyrant king would be the hardest thing she ever did. She was wrong. Now queen of Newton, she barely had a choice in the matter. The crown came with a price-an engagement to Mattias, son of the lord whose alliance made her reign possible. Mattias is charming. Politically convenient. And everything she doesn’t want.Because the one she wants wears a crown of his own.Alejandro-the beast who sheltered her, the bear shifter who stole her heart-is now king of Alegría. Duty keeps them apart. Distance doesn’t make it hurt any less. With her engagement closing in and her birthright as Norraine’s heir apparent pulling her in yet another direction, Lenora is drowning in obligations that were never hers to carry. Then she wakes up in the dark with no idea how she got there.Blindfolded, bound, and dragged into the Great Gorge-a merciless canyon carved into the heart of the mountains-Lenora doesn’t know who wants her gone. She only knows she has to survive long enough to find out.Two men will come looking: the one she’s promised to, and the one she loves. But if there’s one thing Lenora has learned, it’s that no one saves a cursed queen. She saves herself.A Curse Awakened is book two of Lenora, the Cursed, a New Adult series by Jennifer Roachford that retells the classic fairy tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears with diverse characters. This book is perfect for those who love paranormal romantasy, elemental magic, shifters, cursed powers, fated mates, eventual happy ever afters, and Black and Afro-Latino rep. Though this is a spin-off of the Elice, the Great series, it can be read on its own.
