This investigation into prehistoric settlement on the Galgenberg grew out of doctoral research on the early copper-using cultures of the late and final Neolithic periods in the north alpine region. It was evident from this work that, in the late 70s and early 1980s, our knowledge of the individual habitation sites was limited.
