O autismo é causado por uma variedade de fatores e observamos que esses fatores parecem aumentar as probabilidades de desenvolvimento do autismo em jovens. Esses fatores são1. Testosterona fetal;2. estudos com gêmeos;3. Infecção em mulheres grávidas;4. Anticorpos maternos;5. Drogas;6. Toxicantes Ambientais;7. Factores Pós-Natais;8. Síndrome do Vazamento Intestinal;9. Infecção Viral;10. Stress Oxidativo;11. Neurónios Amígdalos;12. Chumbo;13. Mercúrio;14. Desenvolvimento do Cérebro.
