Fruto de dissertação de mestrado defendida pela autora no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia da UFMG em 2014 sob orientação do prof. Dr. Eduardo Soares Neves Silva, este livro tem como objetivo principal realizar uma interpretação da filosofia de Theodor W. Adorno que problematize o estatuto do novo na arte. A importância desse assunto se deve à compreensão, defendida pelo filósofo, de que a busca pelo novo na arte moderna tem como modelo o fetichismo da mercadoria. A proposta, então, é a de diferenciar a aparência de novidade da indústria cultural e o novo na arte, ressaltando como que este último assegura o caráter de verdade da arte. Além disso, pretende-se mostrar que o novo na arte moderna, mais que uma ideologia modernista, deriva do modo como Adorno interpreta a tradição dialética e a concepção romântica de obra de arte original. O livro conta com prefácio escrito pelo professor da UFMG Eduardo Soares Neves Silva. 10
