Thrown into an isolation cell in the oldest prison in Spain, bc narrates the story of his friendship with Dennis Nash, their start in Columbus, Ohio and the path they took. 34 Days is the story about two men, Dennis and bc, their friendship, adventures and challenges.'I’m sitting here in prison with the reality of what’s happened and I know I’ll never again let myself be placed in a situation where any outside influence rules my innermost feelings. It shouldn’t have been, if I had said no, it would not have been.' bc relates this in a letter to Helene as he reflects how Dennis and he ended up in Cadiz.After serving in the Army in Bamberg, Germany, bc was discharged in Munich. He travelled throughout Western Europe and Morocco over a number of years selling goods bought in Morocco up the Coast of Western Europe. Acquired in the Rif Mountains of Morocco, bc sent small amounts of hashish to his friends in the United States. The hash sales was another way for bc to continue his simple and free life style.Dennis, with money from Ralph, fund a plan to purchase and sell more hash they want to obtain from bc’s contacts in Morocco. Dennis and bc drive into the Rif Mountains in Morocco to buy, transport and sell fifty-kilos of hashish.
