El nombre y la identidadrobada lo obligan a participar en la expedición comandadapor Diego Velázquez con la intención de colonizar la cer-cana isla de Cuba. Sin darse cuenta, y en un aprendizajeconstante de su nueva posición, el joven se verá envueltoen la espiral de violencia y muerte que provocará la llegadade los conquistadores a la nueva tierra. Testigo de la des-trucción de una cultura que lo acogió como a uno de lossuyos, la cobardía, el amor y el odio crecerán en su interior,mientras lucha por encontrar su verdadero lugar en el nue-vo mundo.
