E eles o despiram e colocaram sobre ele um manto vermelho.   E depois de tecerem uma coroa de espinhos, puseram-na em sua cabeça e uma cana na sua mão direita; e ajoelhando-se zombavam dele, dizendo: "Salve, Rei dos Judeus!"E cuspiram nele e, pegando a cana, bateram-lhe com ela na sua cabeça.   Depois que zombaram dele, tiraram o manto e colocaram suas próprias roupas, e o levaram para ser crucificado.
