Sono stati selezionati cinque campi di foraggio per il bestiame nel tahsil di Bhoom, nel distretto di Osmanabad, con l’obiettivo di studiare l’alimentazione, l’allevamento, la stabulazione e le pratiche di copertura sanitaria del bestiame, di registrare le prestazioni produttive e di studiare i vincoli affrontati dai proprietari del bestiame. I dati sono stati raccolti da 200 intervistati in quattro campi di foraggio per il bestiame. Lo studio ha rivelato che il 28,05% degli intervistati era un agricoltore marginale, il 32,00% un piccolo agricoltore, il 24,00% un medio agricoltore, il 15,05% un grande agricoltore e lo 0,00% un bracciante senza terra. La maggior parte dei proprietari di bestiame allevava animali autoctoni (90,00%), seguiti da incroci (47,00%) e il 20,50% aveva animali non identificati. Tutti gli allevatori del campo foraggiero forniscono mangime e foraggio secondo quanto stabilito dal governo statale, ossia gli animali di grossa taglia sono stati nutriti con 15 kg di foraggio verde, 6 kg di foraggio secco e 0,500 kg di concentrato.
