Сама идея о том, что медицинские услуги должны отслеживаться и, следовательно, подчиняться общему диктату экономического принципа, противоречит культурным представлениям и традициям народа Нигерии. Больной человек в обществе нуждается в помощи и не должен рассматриваться лишь как еще один статистический показатель, оправдывающий инвестиции в здравоохранение и, тем более, либерализацию этого сектора. Способность платить за медицинские услуги не должна быть критерием доступа к ним.
