Author William Ballard attempts to show how living in Matsuyama, Japan, from 1985 to 2002 affected and changed him forever.About the AuthorWilliam Ballard was born in Fargo, North Dakota, in 1936. His accomplishments include graduating summa cum laude from Tufts University in 1958, receiving a certificate in Chinese Translation and Interpretation from USN (1958-1963), and receiving his Ph.D. from Princeton in 1969. He has taught at Georgia State University and Ehime University.        William has one daughter, Arielle. He currently resides in San Diego.  3
