Δύο νέοι γνωρίζονται, ερωτεύονται, αρχίζουν να συζητούν, να συμφωνούν, να διαφωνούν. Στο επίκεντρο, η ιστορική εξέλιξη της Ελλάδας και τα κακώς κείμενα της χώρας, μιας χώρας εν κρίσει, σε αντιπαράθεση και σε σύγκριση με άλλες χώρες, οι οποίες τα καταφέρνουν πολύ καλύτερα. Μέσω της μυθιστορηματικής αφήγησης, αλλά και των ιστορικά και επιστημονικά τεκμηριωμένων πολιτικο-φιλοσοφικών διαλόγων, αναλύονται τα αίτια και οι λόγοι που δυσκολεύουν εδώ και 200 χρόνια τη χώρα να ορθοποδήσει ως μια σύγχρονη, κοσμικού τύπου ευρωπαϊκή δημοκρατία. Πεποίθηση του συγγραφέα είναι ότι η Ελλάδα θα μπορούσε εκ νέου να προαγάγει, με πρωτοπόρο, νεοπαγή και καινοφανή τρόπο την ευημερία, την τεχνολογία και τις επιστήμες. Όπως έπραξε, άλλωστε, με μεγάλη επιτυχία και κατά την Κλασική περίοδο στην ίδια ακριβώς γεωγραφική περιοχή.Η ιστορία των δύο νέων περιβάλλεται αρχικά από μυστήριο και φανερώνει στο αναπάντεχο τέλος της κάποιες όχι και τόσο γνωστές στο ευρύ κοινό ιστορικές πτυχές του Μεσαιωνικού Ελληνισμού. Ο συγγραφέας αναφέρεται εδώ στους Έλληνες του εξωτερικού εκείνης της μακρινής εποχής, οι οποίοι έφεραν στη Δύση την Αναγέννηση, μετά την κατάκτηση της χώρας από τους Οθωμανούς. Εκτός από την Αναγέννηση, το ελληνικό αυτό στοιχείο που βρισκόταν πλέον στο εξωτερικό κράτησε, επίσης, αναμμένη και τη φλόγα στο λυχνάρι του Ελληνισμού, ώστε ο Αγώνας της Εθνικής Ανεξαρτησίας του 1821 να οδηγήσει στην ίδρυση του νεοελληνικού κράτους. Πεποίθηση του συγγραφέα είναι ότι, ύστερα από την επαφή του με διαφορετικούς πολιτισμούς και την εμπειρία του σε διαφορετικές χώρες του πλανήτη μας, κανείς δεν προόδευσε εν αλαζονεία. Τουναντίον, διδάσκεται κανείς από τα λάθη του και κατόπιν προχωρά μπροστά. Πειραματιζόμενος, ακολουθώντας νέα μονοπάτια, αφήνοντας την πεπατημένη 'comfortzone' πίσω του, κρατώντας μόνο τα χρήσιμα και πρακτικά από αυτήν. Έτσι , το βιβλίο αυτό στέκεται κατά κύριο λόγο στα κακώς κείμενα και στα λάθη, επιχειρώντας να αναλύσει τα αίτια, τα γιατί.Η σπονδυλωτή αφήγηση, η διάρθρωση του βιβλίου σε αυτόνομα μεταξύ τους κεφάλαια, διευκολύνει τον αναγνώστη να περιηγηθεί απρόσκοπτα στο κείμενο, παρά τον όγκο του.
