Rodríguez Toledo nació en Cuba y creció con sus abuelos, de los que aprendió que el amor y la familia son lo más importante del mundo.Ese amor es con el que ella da vida a su universo de poesía para niños, un imaginario fantástico que sirve para conocer el mundo que les rodea y ayudarles a inventar mundos propios.Le gusta usar la poesía y los juegos de palabras para mezclar personajes, colores, olores e imaginación y estimular las mentes de los que leen sus libros.Suele vestir ropa de todos los colores, aunque su favorito es sin duda el rojo, y siente una fascinación muy especial por las orquídeas, que son flores similares a su poesía: hermosas, llenas de vida y muy resistentes cuando se les presta la atención adecuada. 10
