'Sónnica la Cortesana' es un ejemplo del arte narrativo de Blasco Ibáñez que ha sido transmutada con el objetivo, según afirmaba el novelista, de que al lector, «al terminar la última página le parezca que sale de un sueño o que acaba de devanarse ante sus ojos una visión de cinematógrafo».
