La violencia ha imperado en el mundo desde tiempos remotos. No obstante, la violencia que se ha fraguado desde finales del siglo XX y que permanece instalada en el tiempo presente guarda características cuya distintividad apela necesariamente al pensamiento filosófico para poder hacerle frente. En esta obra, cuatro generaciones de filósofas y filósofos procedentes de latitudes diferentes ­México, España e Italia- se dan cita para reflexionar sobre la actualidad de la hermenéutica y su concepción del lenguaje exhortados por el in-mundo fruto de esa violencia, para decodificarla, ponerla al descubierto y desarticularla. ¿Qué es lo que aún puede la hermenéutica contra la violencia? Ésta parece ser la pregunta que guía los textos albergados en el presente volumen. Las respuestas, trazadas desde horizontes como el holocausto, el cristianismo y la filosofía misma, construyen un umbral bajo el cual la crítica y sus posibilidades cobran nuevas dimensiones, urdidas desde la actualidad y la potencia de la hermenéutica y el lenguaje mismos.
