Un réflexe nauséeux sévère est un obstacle à la réussite de certaines procédures dentaires car il conduit à éviter le traitement dentaire pour certains et pour d’autres la sédation ou l’anesthésie générale reste la seule option pour faire face au traitement dentaire. Même les procédures dentaires de base, comme la prise d’empreinte, en particulier de l’arcade supérieure, augmentent le niveau de stress des patients et entraînent souvent une salivation, un larmoiement, voire des vomissements. La présente étude a donc pour but d’évaluer l’effet de la thérapie laser de faible niveau sur la stimulation du point d’acupression PC 6 afin de réduire le réflexe nauséeux. Le réflexe nauséeux a été évalué en effectuant le test de stimulation nerveuse. Chez les patients présentant un réflexe nauséeux, la stimulation du point PC6 a été effectuée au moyen d’un laser de faible intensité.
