The exhibition 'A Leap into the Future. 1960s Fashion' offers a multifaceted insight into the decade’s most important fashion trends - from Space Age fashion to hippies, from youthful minidresses to luxurious evening gowns. The catalogue includes bright and distinctive 1960s garments and accessories designed by the influential French, British, Spanish, Italian and American designers such as Cristóbal Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Cardin, Mary Quant, André Courrèges, Emilio Pucci, and Paco Rabanne. The photographs are accompanied by information on the designers and their influences, and the major changes that took place in fashion and society during this decade. The catalogue gives an insight into the most characteristic silhouettes of the decade, as well as the variety of colours and patterns, where restrained minimalism meets vibrant psychedelia and the influence of modern art.
