Tenjin shinyo ryu fue una de las más completas y afamadas escuelas de jujutsu tradicional del siglo XIX en Japón. Se la considera como el padre del Judo kodokan, donde Jigoro Kano tomó prestado su atemi waza, katame waza y kappo waza entre otras muchas técnicas.Al igual que ha sucedido con otras koryu, Tenjin shinyo ryu apenas se practica en la actualidad.
