En ella el visitante puede detenerse en uno, pasar fugaz por el siguiente o retroceder para volver a contemplar otro que le llamó la atención.En estas páginas se realiza un viaje por la infancia, juventud y madurez del protagonista para dibujar una serie de breves cuadros a modo de paisajes interiores.Del mismo modo que las estaciones del año transforman los elementos de un paisaje ofreciendo cambiantes imágenes del mismo, las escenas que recorre el protagonista, aunque aparentemente inconexas, parecen construirse con los mismos materiales básicos que se transforman y modifican con el tiempo.El narrador se sumerge en busca de esos materiales explorando situaciones que pueden parecer insignificantes, pero que son transformadas por la mirada del protagonista para convertirse en iluminaciones fugaces.
