Few inside accounts have been published in Australia written by those who were active in that part of the Cold War which took place inside Australia’s social institutions, especially the trade union movement. Most published memoirs have been written by those on the extreme left of the political spectrum or by defectors from the anti-communist movement. In his account, Keith Harvey, an anti-communist student and trade union movement activist describes his involvement in the struggle carried out, he says, by often unsung people with the highest motives. 3
