Una exposición cristiana siempre debe recordar los consejos de un médico dados en la cabecera del lecho de un enfermo; incluso sin necesidad de ser profano para comprenderlos, nunca hay que olvidar el lugar en que se emiten [] Atreverse a ser enteramente uno mismo, atreverse a realizar un individuo, no tal o cual, sino éste, aislado ante Dios, sólo en la inmensidad de su esfuerzo y de su responsabilidad, tal es el heroísmo cristiano y, reconozcamos su rareza probable. ¿Pero acaso encuéntrese en el hecho de engañarse encerrándose en la humanidad pura o en jugar a quién se asombrará ante la historia universal? Todo conocimiento cristiano, por estricta que sea por lo demás su forma, es y debe ser inquietud; pero esta inquietud misma edifica.
