'One nation under God,' 'Endowed by their creator,' and 'In God we trust' are familiar and foundational phrases to those of us now described as being a part of 'the greatest generation' or 'the baby boomers.' We've spent our lives proudly proclaiming that America is a Christian nation. After all, we made it part of our pledge, our founding documents, and we printed it on our money. Setting aside that nostalgia, the reality is that America is the third largest mission field in the world, only four percent of Americans born after 1980, believe that the Bible is true and divorce rates and pornography use are similar inside of the church as outside. How did we get here? Certainly, there are multiple factors, but a large piece of the answer is that we took God out of the schools, then out of the homes, and now we are taking Him out of the church. In churches where God may still be found, He has become one dimensional with only characteristics of love, grace, and mercy. This parallels our societal changes where all behaviors are now acceptable, and you dare not state that something is wrong, or you'll be labeled as intolerant and prejudice. Whether politically correct or not, Hell is a literal reality where those who intentionally reject Christ will spend eternity in anguish-not because God is vengeful but very simply because that is the choice that they made. Before we comfort ourselves with, 'Oh, but I believe in God,' remember that an integral part of belief is obedience. Also consider the question: At some point doesn't intentional neglect morph into intentional rejection? Take the short journey through these pages and learn what God's written word teaches us about a persevering relationship with Him as we travel through life toward the goal of sanctification and eternity in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: 'It is good.' But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. We are also remin...
